clean streak soap

Thanks for your interest in our soap bars.  We are currently selling Batch #s 18-20.  These were made with our favorite four oil recipe: olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, and shea butter.  We specialize in unscented recipes, for those who want the purest, simplest soap possible, but may at times experiment with a very light scent for those who still like some scent in their soap.  We have 2 sizes, a trial size and a regular size.  There is a limit of one trial size bar per customer.

Our Ingredients

Learn more about our ingredients below.  We have tried a number of recipes, and found that our current blend has all the qualities you expect from a good soap.  It cleans well, while also moisturizing, and it builds a great lather.  It also has a good amount of hardness, so it dries between uses and doesn’t turn into a slimy mess in the shower.

Olive Oil

We use grocery store, food grade olive oil. We shop around for the best price.  Sometimes we end up with extra virgin, sometimes we end up with a regular, light olive oil.  But we never buy Olive Pomace Oil.  This is the lowest quality olive oil that some soap makers use.

Organic Coconut Oil

For our coconut oil, we source organic, grocery store brands, just like our olive oil.  We use the exact same oil that we buy for home use, as a butter substitute.  Currently, we are using both Sams and Costco brands, as they have the best price and best taste.

Castor Oil

Our 100% Pure Castor Oil is expeller-pressed from the seeds of Ricinus communis. It’s widely regarded as one of the best natural skin emollients, and when used in our soap recipe, it contributes to a thick lather and adds moisturizing qualities as well.

Shea Butter

Our shea butter is sourced from Africa, like most shea.  It’s a natural fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree.  We include it for the same reasons as the castor oil.  It helps the soap make a great lather and also adds moisturizing properties.
